Internships at Tom Douglas Restaurants

We are always looking for talented and motivated culinary students who share our passion for great food and exceptional service. Our food is seasonal and cook-driven with everything being made in-house, from stock and sauces to our breads and pastries. If you are looking for an intern/externship to see the inter-workings of a busy restaurant then chances are we'll find you a Tom Douglas home!

Dahlia Lounge: Nominated for James Beard “Outstanding Restaurant 2006,” alongside the likes of the French Laundry and other top restaurants nationwide. We consider the Dahlia the most “fine dining” of Tom’s joints.

Etta’s: Our fish house, located in the Pike Place Market, serving the best of the Northwest’s fresh, wild seafood.

Palace Kitchen: An upscale urban bar serving delicious European and American inspired-rustic cuisine. The menu is appetizer heavy and features an apple wood burning grill and rotisserie.

Lola: Our “Greek-inspired” restaurant with a menu that draws on the cuisines of Greece, Turkey, North Africa, and the Eastern Mediterranean. Lola showcases the best local ingredients with exciting, spice-conscious style.

Serious Pie: A pizzeria with a bread baker’s soul and a wood-burning oven. We top the pizzas with an Italian sensibility, using the best-quality ingredients like artisan cheeses, handmade sausages, and organic produce.

Tom Douglas Catering & Events: A fast-paced and busy operation with events of all sizes taking place every day of the week in either our own venue, The Palace Ballroom, or off-site. Our catering team has the same passion for quality food as our restaurants, creating delicious meals handmade from scratch using top-quality ingredients.

Pastry Bakery: Our pastry cooks produce labor-intensive, top quality work at high volume, creating desserts for five restaurants plus pastries for our retail bakery- The Dahlia Bakery- and our catering business.

Bread Bakery: Our bakers produce some of Seattle’s best European-style slow rise breads. They also create delicious pita, crackers, burgers buns and many other items for our restaurants.

Intern/externship program guidelines and requirements:

  • All intern/externships will take place between the months of April-August and October-December.

  • We do not guarantee intern/externship placement in a specific restaurant.

  • All intern/externs are expected to work their assigned schedules.

  • You may or may not be moved around within the Tom Douglas Restaurants Group.

  • There is no guarantee as to which station, if any, you will work in the restaurants.

  • All interns/externs are held to the same standards as our regular employees.
